Art Advisor
HELVETIKA 1575 AG is a contemporary art gallery based in Zug, with a new gallery space opening on Rennweg in Zurich. We represent a deliberately small and selective group of international artists and offer selected secondary-market works to private collectors, family offices and institutions.
We are looking for an Art Advisor (Sales) who builds lasting collector relationships and drives sales actively – through personal networks, outreach and follow-up, not walk-in traffic.
Position: Art Advisor (Sales)
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Workload: 100%
Start date: by arrangement
Reports to: Management (Stephan Jöbstl, Katerina Maliakina)
Compensation: Fixed salary plus sales commission
You are responsible for generating revenue: you identify and win collectors, advise them on acquisitions from our programme and inventory, and take each sale through to delivery and after-sales service.
- Build and manage a portfolio of private collectors, family offices, corporate collections and art advisors
- Actively prospect new clients through your network, events, art fairs and structured outreach, with consistent follow-up
- Advise clients on acquisitions of primary works by our artists and selected secondary-market works
- Prepare tailored offers, proposals and presentations, and negotiate sales within agreed price parameters
- Manage the full sales process: invoicing, KYC/AML documentation, payment, shipping, installation and after-sales service
- Organise private viewings, studio visits and collector events in Zurich and abroad
- Represent the gallery at art fairs and openings
- Maintain the CRM with all client contacts, offers and sales, and report pipeline and results in the weekly team meeting
- A completed university degree in Art History, Art Business, Business Administration or a related field – or equivalent professional experience
- At least 3 years of sales experience in a gallery, auction house, art advisory or the luxury / private banking sector
- A proven sales track record and an existing network of collectors or high-net-worth clients, ideally in Switzerland and the DACH region
- Sound knowledge of the contemporary and modern art market, pricing and market trends
- Fluent English; German is a strong advantage, French, Russian or other languages a plus
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, discretion and a confident, professional presence
- Self-driven, results-oriented and well organised; experience with CRM tools
- Willingness to travel (art fairs, client visits)
- A fixed salary plus an attractive, performance-based commission on sales
- A curated programme of internationally recognised artists and high-quality secondary-market works
- Direct collaboration with the founders and short decision paths
- A new gallery space in the heart of Zurich
Please apply online with your CV, a short cover letter and an overview of your sales experience. All applications will be treated confidentially.
